About Disease

Avian influenza, commonly known as bird flu, is an acute infectious disease caused by a subtype of the influenza A virus, which can also infect humans after mutation. It is classified as a Category A infectious disease by the International Organization for Animal Health. The avian influenza virus (AIV) belongs to the Orthomyxoviridae family and is a single-stranded negative-sense RNA virus. It is divided into H (hemagglutinin) and N (neuraminidase) subtypes, with 18 HA and 11 NA subtypes identified so far.

This kit is used for detecting the H7N9 subtype of avian influenza virus RNA in samples such as throat swabs, trachea, lung, brain, intestines (including contents), liver, spleen, kidney, heart, and other tissues from birds. It is suitable for diagnosing, quarantining, testing, monitoring, and conducting epidemiological surveys of avian influenza virus H7N9 subtype infections.
