About Disease
Fowl Adenovirus Group I are classified into 12 serotypes (FAdV-1 to 8a and -8b to 11).Fowl Adenovirus infects mostly 3–6-weeks-old broilers and isreadily transmitted both horizontally by the fecal-oral routeand vertically by embryonated eggs. Serotype 2 Fowladenovirus (FADV-2) belongs to group I adenoviruses inthe genus Aviadenovirus. FADV-2 causes Hydropericardium syndrome (HPS), Inclusion body hepatitis (IBH), respiratory tract disease, and/or gizzard erosion in chickens.
