Autogenous Bacterin Manufacturing Services
U.S.-based contract manufacturing of herd-specific autogenous bacterins under veterinary oversight.
What are Autogenous Bacterins?
Autogenous bacterins are custom veterinary vaccines made from bacterial isolates collected from animals within a specific herd or flock. BioStone currently focuses on autogenous bacterins to support veterinarians when commercial vaccines are unavailable, insufficient, or not well matched to circulating strains. We support programs across bovine, swine, poultry, equine, and small ruminant species.

Our Autogenous Bacterin Manufacturing Services
Veterinarian-collected samples are submitted to a diagnostic lab for bacterial isolation/identification; confirmed isolate(s) are then forwarded (at the veterinarian’s request) to BioStone’s USDA-licensed facility in Grand Prairie, Texas. We manufacture autogenous bacterins/bacterin-toxoids with up to five isolates, in the dose quantity requested, typically shipping within 6-8 weeks to the prescribing veterinarian for use.
Manufactured in the United States
Autogenous bacterins must be produced at a USDA-licensed establishment authorized for vaccine production. BioStone owns and operates a 16,300-square-foot USDA-licensed facility (Est. 315) in Grand Prairie, Texas, acquired from American Animal Health (AAH) along with key personnel and manufacturing systems. Through this acquisition, BioStone continues a legacy of autogenous bacterin manufacturing dating back to 1983.
