Fowl Adenovirus Group I are classified into 12 serotypes (FAdV-1 to 8a and -8b to 11). Fowl Adenovirus infects mostly 3–6-weeks-old broilers and is readily transmitted both horizontally by the fecal-oral route and vertically by embryonated eggs. Fowl Adenovirus Group I causes Hydropericardium syndrome (HPS), Inclusion body hepatitis (IBH), respiratory tract disease, and/or gizzard erosion in chickens.
