About Disease
Akabane virus (AKA) causes arthrogryposis and hydrencephaly in cattle. Akabane virus is an arbovirus, transmitted by gnats and mosquitos. Akabane virus, is belong to genus Bunyavirus, Simbu serogroup. It has been reported in Australia, Japan, South Africa, the Middle East, Argentina, Korea, and other parts of Asia.
