BioStone Animal Health Launches Fowl Adenovirus Group 1, Serotypes 4, 8, and 11 ELISAs

DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TX — November 21, 2023 — BioStone Animal Health is pleased to announce that the launch of the AsurDxTM Fowl Adenovirus Group I (FADV-4, FADV-8, and FADV-11) Antibody Test Kits designed for the detection of chicken antibodies specific to Fowl Adenovirus Group I (FADV-4, FADV-8, and FADV-11) in chicken serum/plasma. Fowl Adenovirus Group I are classified into 12 serotypes (FAdV-1 to 8a and -8b to 11). Fowl Adenovirus infects mostly 3–6-weeks-old broilers and is readily transmitted both horizontally by the fecal-oral route and vertically by embryonated eggs.

Serotype 4, 8a, 8b, and 11 Fowl adenovirus (FADV-4, FADV-8, and FADV-11) belong to group I adenoviruses in the genus Aviadenovirus. FADV-4, FADV-8, AND FADV-11 cause Hydropericardium syndrome (HPS), Inclusion body hepatitis (IBH), respiratory tract disease, and/or gizzard erosion in chickens.

The AsurDxTM Fowl Adenovirus Group I (FADV-4, FADV-8, AND FADV-11) Antibody Test Kits detect FADV-4, FADV-8, and FADV-11 antibodies of the IgG in chicken serum/plasma. The AsurDxTM Fowl Adenovirus Group I (FADV-4, FADV-8, and FADV-11) Antibody Test Kits provides a simple, rapid, sensitive, and cost-effective enzyme-based immunoassay (ELISA) screening method.
